We woke up one night with cacao beans on the brain... Went loco and came up with this recipe based on organic whole food and classic ingredients from the Inca and the Maya.
Tastes like the ultimate natural chocolate smoothie. Milk chocolate and vanilla, creamy rich body, a bit chewy: We use whole chunks of real cacao (chocolate bean, dried lucuma fruit, solcana™ and for an added buzz, Maca Magic™ raw and slightly toasted.
Suggested Directions for Use: Delicious smoothie blend for malts and milk shakes. Blend one tablespoon of Cocoa Maca Loco™ to 8 ozs. of juice, milk or soy milk. For a more scrumptious smoothie, add banana and nuts.
Ingredients:
Cacao Nibs (real chocolate beans): High in anti-oxidants, magnesium, beta-carotene, calcium, dopamine, lysine, niacin, phosphorus and much more. Used for centuries by South American cultures as a stimulating, “feel good” treat.
Organic Maca: sustainably harvested maca grown in Peru’s Magic Valley. Crown at 14,000 feet, this remarkable root is packed with nutriets, alkaloids, tannins, proteins, vitamins B1, B2, and C trace elements of copper, zinc, manganese, iron, selenium, and boron, as well as macro micronutrients.
Lucuma: Prized by the Inca, and ancient fruit from the mid Andes that tasted like dried ice cream! The fruits are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals – including remarkable concentrations of beta-carotene, niacin and iron. Lucuma is one of the Lost Crops of the Incas.
Solcana: A natural mineral rich cane juice that is dehydrated with little or no processing. It retains high quality nutrients, minerals and vitamins as a result.
